Labor Day 2026

Stop belaboring and Be clear?

Labor Day occurs on the first Monday of September and pays tribute to the contributions and achievements of American workers. The holiday weekend also symbolizes the unofficial end of summer.

As a child, Labor Day meant one thing: going back to school. I believe many school districts across the U.S. now begin the school year as early as mid-August.

The holiday itself didn’t mean much to me then, and it doesn’t mean much to me now. But it does call me to consider a twist on the word labor: belabor—to keep explaining or insisting on something to excess.

I’m often guilty of this in many ways. I can become self-conscious about whether I’ve been clear, which leads me to belabor what I’m trying to say.

I’m ready to keep things simple and get to the point.

So I asked the Tarot a two-part question:

How can we stop belaboring? and How can we be clear?

The Hierophant tells us that we can learn how to stop belaboring, by following  traditional rules. Stay organized, keep to the point, listen to what others responses and stay aware and open.

How can we be clear? is the 2nd question asked. Ten of Fire brings a feeling of completion and satisfaction. Keep it simple so you can then let to go.

To move through “belaboring” to literally moving through to “clarity”.  Please follow the below Tarot in Motion I have created.
