Time & Place—and Finding the Magic

Woodstock was a a “time and place” event. 

I asked the cards, how can we be open to finding this type of magic.

I pulled the Knight of Wands aka, the King of Fire.

In this card pull the card meanings taken from Tarot in Motion have been specifically altered with the question in mind and focused on how having a Lammas “party” can shift the idea of community.

Father's Day arrives on the Summer Solstice, which makes it extra powerful .Whatever our relationship is or was regarding our fathers, the specific question to ask is: 

How can we honor my father (this year)?

Two of Fire -  Use the lessons directly or contrary learned from our fathers, adding the Summer Solstice energy to ignite passion for a new project. 

This year, I’d like to gently widen the lens of what it means to memorialize.

What if Memorial Day also became a time to honor and consciously release something — or someone? What we continue to carry may be preventing healing, movement, or renewal.

How to Speak with Clarity: A Tarot Practice for May.

This month, I turned to Tarot to explore that question: How do I express myself clearly and authentically?

I pulled four cards and allowed them to form a pathway—one that moves from grounding, to alignment, to expression, and finally to heart-centered communication.

How do we stay grounded—individually and collectively—while caring for the Earth?

I used a 4-card elemental spread, allowing each placement to speak not only through traditional Tarot meanings, but through the lens of the body and energy systems explored in Tarot and the Chakras.

The Ides of March (March 15) isn’t exactly a holiday. The date refers to the assassination of Julius Caesar on March 15, 44 BCE. Over time, the phrase has become shorthand for moments when caution is wise— I can’t help noticing how often history echoes itself. 

How to De-Escalate the Drama

I pulled three cards from three different decks — not intending any sequence like past, present, future — and yet they unfolded in a clear progression. That’s the magic of Tarot. Patterns reveal themselves. Order emerges. Hope surfaces.

For this New Year Tarot in Motion reflection, I chose to pre-select the cards—something I don’t often do. All three are Major Arcana, marking this transition as a significant threshold rather than a small shift.

With so much going on in the world, even with the help of astrology I can barely keep track. Do we try to just be? or Do we stay as busy as possible?  Where is the balance?  What parts of us can help?
